Activities were carried out by five laboratories and numerous faculty members. In addition to short popular lectures, participants had the opportunity to actively take part in testing procedures, producing concrete elements, and testing concrete structures. They also engaged in simulations of rainfall-induced landslides and coastal flooding, both under current conditions and with projected sea-level rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Participants learned about the water cycle in nature and about porous asphalt as an environmentally friendly material in road construction. The educational activities were attended by primary school pupils and even some preschoolers. Organised visits included school classes from Trsat Primary School<\/strong> and Vladimir Gortan Primary School<\/strong>, a group from a mathematics camp, and many children who came individually with their parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The goal of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability in civil engineering in the context of climate change and environmental protection, as well as to spark interest in civil engineering and its many branches.
