The QA System of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka is based on the Law on QA in Science and Higher Education and the Standards and Guidelines for QA in the European Higher Education Area, as well as on national, university and faculty criteria. It is defined by the Rulebook for the QA and Improvement System of the University and the Rulebook for the QA and Improvement System of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Rijeka, which is a formally adopted institutional act for QA with defined assessment areas and the organisation and functioning of QA units.
The Faculty bases its QA and evaluation procedures on the Quality Manual, in which the procedures are elaborated or described in more detail and harmonised with the Study Quality Manual of the University of Rijeka. Evidence of the development and effectiveness of the QA system is the certificate of the Agency for Science and Higher Education from 2015, which confirms that the Faculty’s QA system is effective and in a stage of development.
The Faculty’s QA Policy is in line with the mission, vision and goals set out in the Faculty’s Strategy for 2018-2022, and the Faculty supports the development of a culture of quality at all levels of its activities.
The faculty internal QA system consists of: the QA Committee, the Community and Business Collaboration Committee, and the Student and teacher support offices. Through work in the QA System units, internal stakeholders (students, teachers, staff), external stakeholders, and alumni are actively involved in QA and improvement.
